Your Personal Guide While Recovering from Injury & Surgery
Isn’t it all just a bit overwhelming sometimes?
- Getting to and from appointments
- Following doctor’s orders
- Learning new ways to get through your day
- Wondering, will I ever be back to normal?
- Worrying about what comes next
- Feeling like recovery is taking forever
- Getting stuck in the healing process
When recovering from an injury, surgery, or both, there may be times when you need a fresh perspective and, perhaps, some extra encouragement along the way. That’s when you need the support of someone who really understands, and maybe a guiding nudge in the right direction. It also helps to have some specific effective wellness strategies.
I want you to know that if you’re facing an upcoming surgery, recovering from an injury or illness, tired of feeling like your life has been on “pause,” or struggling with the emotional leftovers from one or more losses…
you are not alone!
I’ve been there! I’ve been an injury/surgery patient and have struggled with all the emotions that go along with that. As a coach I work primarily with people who have been sidelined by an unexpected life transition such as an injury, surgery, or acute illness – people who are in the midst of a season of healing and recovery.
Usually people recover quickly and life goes on. Other times, however, it takes months or even years of dealing with physical and emotional pain, limitations, doctor appointments, depending on others, and just plain wondering if things will ever be back to normal. Your support system – most often friends and family – are geared up and ready to help (at least for a while), but if the recovery process seems to drag on longer than a few months that support system tends to wear out, break down, or give up.
Countless hours of researching the psychological effects of injury have shown me that there are many powerful effects on the mind, body, and spirit when a person suffers such a sudden and unwanted life change. I know about this personally because I’ve had several surgeries following a serious injury, and have experienced the emotional and physical effects caused by a complicated healing process.
Ready to get started?
During your first free consultation call we will spend about 20-30 minutes to determine if there is a good fit between coach and client. From there we will decide how to proceed together, and professional coaching goals and fees will be discussed. Next we will arrange a one-time 60-75 minute session to determine your current situation and help you begin the next chapter of your life story. After that we will schedule regular, weekly or bi-weekly calls (usually about 45-60 minutes).
but actually thrive during your recovery process!
