What is Performing Edge Coaching?

Together we can help you reach your goals using these key concepts:

  • PERFORMING EDGE COACHING: Introduction to Coaching and PECI
  • PREPARING FOR PROBLEMS: Healing Physical and Mental Wounds
  • PRESENT FOCUS: Concentration & Relaxation
  • POWER WORDS:  Positive Self-Talk
  • POSITIVE IMAGES: Gaining Perspective
  • PRACTICAL GOALS: Tools for Motivation
  • PATIENCE: Listening to the Wisdom of the Body
  • PERSONAL STRENGTH: Discover Your True Potential
I work primarily with people who have suffered a sudden, unexpected life transition such as an accidental injury, surgery, or acute illness – people who are in the midst of a season of healing and recovery.  Countless hours of researching the psychological effects of injury has shown me that there are many powerful effects on the mind, body, and spirit when a person suffers such a sudden and unwanted life change.  I know about this personally because I’ve had several surgeries following a serious injury, and have experienced the emotional and physical effects caused by a complicated healing process.

Usually people recover quickly and life goes on.  Other times, however, it takes months or even years of dealing with physical and emotional pain, limitations, doctor appointments, depending on others, and just plain worrying that nothing will ever be back to normal. Your support system – most often friends and family – are geared up and ready to help (at least for a while), but if the recovery process seems to drag on longer than a few months that support system tends to wear out, break down, or give up.

During our weekly telephone coaching sessions I will focus entirely on you, listen as you tell me about your experience, help you create and reach goals, and offer many of the tools of sports psychology to help you Heal Your Best.  Even if you aren’t a competitive athlete I can help you reach your “Performing Edge” for a more fulfilling, balanced, and purposeful life.
